As an active member of the association, I continue to support its work on a voluntary basis alongside my professional career. In my spare time, I contribute to the homepage, assist with public events, and support the Lernort-Natur-Mobil as part of the association’s outreach and educational activities.

This ongoing commitment reflects my long-term connection to the organization and my interest in combining technical, organizational, and hands-on support. It also highlights my motivation to contribute to projects that connect people with nature, learning, and community engagement.

Video Production & Event Organization

Active member of the Bio11erRat Leipzig e.V. since 2016. Responsible for producing the annual short films and performing on stage during the traditional “Biofasching” events.

Since November 2016, I have been an active, dedicated member of the Bio11erRat Leipzig e.V., the official student carnival association of the Faculty of Biosciences, Pharmacy, and Psychology at Leipzig University. The association is widely known for organizing the annual “Biofasching”, a major student event featuring elaborate stage programs, dances, and creative storytelling.

Within the association, I took on a leading creative and technical role:

Film Production: I was primarily responsible for the conceptualization, shooting, and editing of the self-produced short films that are a central highlight of the stage show every year.

Stage Performance: Beyond my work behind the camera, I also actively participated as an actor, standing on stage in various comedic and theatrical scenes.

Event Organization: Supporting the planning, logistics, and execution of large-scale student events and parties.

This long-standing volunteering experience perfectly balances my technical and analytical daily work with highly creative, team-oriented, and entertaining community projects.

Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ)

A one-year voluntary commitment dedicated to environmental education, wildlife care, and practical nature conservation at a non-profit forest and wildlife center in Potsdam.

Between January 2006 and January 2007, I completed a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) at the Wald-Jagd-Naturerlebnis e.V. in Potsdam. The non-profit association, located in the protected landscape area “Springbruch”, manages the Waldhaus Großer Ravensberg and an integrated falconry (Falkenhof). Its primary mission is to counter the growing alienation from nature by bringing the forest, its wildlife, and its flora closer to children, youth, and adults through hands-on forest pedagogy.

During my time there, I was an active part of a small, dedicated team. My responsibilities were highly diverse and hands-on, encompassing:

Animal Care & Wildlife Protection: Supporting the care of birds of prey and other animals at the wildlife station and the Falkenhof.

Environmental Education: Assisting with forest pedagogy programs, guided nature tours, and holiday camps aimed at teaching students and visitors about ecological interrelationships.

Operational Support: Helping with the daily operations of the association, visitor support, and practical landscape maintenance.

This immersive year not only deepened my understanding of ecology and nature conservation but also built a strong foundation in teamwork, responsibility, and communicating complex natural concepts to the public.
